【Abstract】 The germicidal effect of China-made iodophor was determined in laboratory. The results indicated that the bactericidal action of China-made iodo phor was similar to that of Japan-made iodophor (Isodine) and better than that of tincture iodine and bromogeramine. A solution yielding 10 ppm available iodine killed 99.9999% of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and pseudomonas aeruginosa after 2 min of action; 50 ppm killed these bacteria completely after 8 min of action. When the concentration increased to 150 ppm, the spores of Bacillus cereus could be killed completely after 90 min, 200 ppm could kill spores of B subtitis var. niger and destroy HBsAg after 120 min and 30 min respectively. The bacterieidal efficacy of iodophor would decrease in presence of organic substances. The undiluted Chinamade iodophor was quite stable, while the vailable iodine in diluted solution dropped rapidly by 54.9% after 2 days and by 91.5% after 7 days.It is recommended on basis of experimental results that 150 ppm with a 30 min dwelling time can be used for routine disinfection of environment and 200 ppm with a 120 min dwelling time is required for sterilization of surgical instruments and disinfection of articles contaminated by hepatitis B patient.更多还原
