【Abstract】 This paper reports the animal models of corneal graft rejection which were produced by penetrating corneal homograft in rabbits after sensitizing to donor skin. It was found that the clear grafts in the control group appeared similar to the normal cornea except that a scar formed between the donor and recipient tissue and that in the rejecting grafts many new vessels invaded the grafts and a lot of infiltrating cells appeared. The infiltrating cells were lymphocytes, phagocytes, plasmacytes and polymorphonuclear leucocytes. The grafts were dama ged in different degrees.The recipients’ corneas were not hurt during the rejection. We discuss the problems about the animal model,the clinical characteristics and immunologic mechanism of the rejection, and the vascular effect on the graft rejection. It is believed that the corneal graft rejection is the specific immunologic reaction, which is mainly cellular immunity and also involves humoral immunity, and that the vessels have an important effect on the reaction.更多还原
