关于Bragg光纤的分析
Analysis about Bragg Fibers
【摘要】 自从P.Yeh和A.Yariv等人提出Bragg光纤的设想以来,Bragg光纤的特性究竟如何,能否实用一直是国内外有关学者所关注的课题之一。本文从传输损耗的角度出发,导出了Bragg光纤的相位常数及衰减常数的公式。计算结果表明,Bragg光纤难以实现单模传输,模式滤波的特性亦不佳,而且它的弯曲半径需在3米以上,在光纤传输系统中没有实用意义。但作为激光器的谐振腔,可以在极低损耗的同时获得较高的增益。
【Abstract】 Bragg fiber was surposed to be a single mode fiber with large core diameter and to be strongly mode selective. But we haven’t seen any detailed analysis, about Bragg fibers so far. This paper determines the propagation constant and the increase of attenuation, due to curvature of the axis of Bragg fibers. The conclusion is that it is impossible for Bragg fiber to be a single mode fiber or a mode filter and that Bragg fiber is not a good guiding medium for long distance optical transmission systers. Nevertheless Bragg fibers seem to be very attactive as resonators of lasers.
