【Abstract】 HZ(Herpes Zoster)is a common infectious virus disease and often with nervoussystem complications,such as meningitis and neuritis of the cranial nerves or spinalnerve roots.The complications of encephalitis,encephalomyelitis,myelitis,or myelo-pathy had been reported in the literatures but were rare.In recent years,some authors have described a delayed contralateral hemiparesisof HZO(Herpes Zoster ophthalmicus)which is probably caused by a hemisphericstroke secondary to the granulomatous angitis of HZ.This paper reports 8 cases of HZ.5 of them were complicated with meningitis,(one Hunt syndrome,one HZO,and three thoracic HZ).The other 3 cases consistedof one Hunt syndrome,one HZO,and one simple frontal HZ.Several categories of HZ nervous system complications have been reviewed fromthe literatures and discussed in this essay.The local use of DMSO(Dimethyl sulfoxide)has been proved to be more effec-tive in the treatment of HZ rash and neuralgia,更多还原
