【Abstract】 The Poisson’s ratio of underground formations is an important parameter for predicting formation fracture pressure. A new method has been developed to determine the in-situ Poisson’s ratio of rocks by using triaxial testing technique in which the confining pressure is taken into consideration. The paper introduces the theoretical basis of this method as well as the testing equipment and testing procedure, and gives an analysis of the experimental data of 50 core samples from Zhongyuan Oilfield. More accurate prediction of formation fracture pressure gradient can be obtained.更多还原
