【Abstract】 Neomargarodes niger (Green) is a newly-found chief insect pest infesting peanut plant in recent years. Its infested area reaches about 30% of the peanut -growing region. Only in the eastern part of Henan Province the loss caused by this pest amoun ts to as high as 6 million yuan every year.The Pest so far is found to have only one generation a year in that region.The coccids overwinter hide in the soil to a depth of 10—15cm below the surface of the soil as "Spheroids". A female may lay 238 eggs on an average.The major infesting stage of the pest is in July. When there are 1—5 "Spheroids" per plant, the peanut output will decrease 10.84%.Control measures are in an urgent need.更多还原
