【Abstract】 Measurement of the pH of a medium with the help of micro-fine test paper (MTP) has been regarded as one of the most convenient methods used in science laboratory. Generally,the pH value can be determined by observing the different colors that appear on the MTP immediately(about 0.5 second)after the medium has been dropped on that MTP. Our experiments have shown that this method when applied to non-buffered solution(e. g. Fischer’s and 1640)would produce deviation approximately between the range of 0.7-1.0 and growth in vitro of the granulocyte progenitor (CFU-GM) would be interfered thereby. The color of the MTP varied with the duration in which the moistening of MTP was humidified by the medium. In about 30-45 seconds the pH value of the Fischer’s medium showed on the MTP coincided with that measured with the pH meter. Therefore it seems pratical to prolong observation time or to add a coefficient after measuring the pH after 0.5 second if MTP is used to determine the pH of the non-buffered solution.更多还原
