【Abstract】 An anlysis of 80 cases of urinary fistula in women of a hospital in Africa is presented. Fistula resections accounted for 32. 2% of all gynecological operations performed during the same period in the Hospital. There were three causes. (1) due to trauma during parturition; (2) due to early marriage. The underdeveloped genital organ might lead to dystocia; (3) due to resection of clitoris done on young girls in this area. The narrowing of the introitus would lead to difficulty in labour. 63.8% of the patient were multiparas. The main type of fistula was vesicovaginal fistula, (87.5%).All patients with fistula were performed operations of vaginal repair. The total anatomical cure rate was 88.8%. The failure of operative repair in 5 cases were largely due to complicated venereal disease with common infection.更多还原
