【Abstract】 A total of 100 patients over 70 years of age were operated in our hospital from January 1980 to April 1984. This paper thoroughly describes the characteristics in geronto-surgery, and especially discusses the treatment of the pre-operative and post-operative complications and the selectiou of the operation methods. If a surgeon energetically and carefully treats the complications during the pre-operative and post-operative periods, satisfying resnlts will be obtained in both selective and emergent surgeries in old age.
