【Abstract】 The Devonian rocks are relatively welldeveloped and wide-spread in southeastern Yunnan. In the west and south parts of this region, the sedimentary rocks belong to the Xiangzhou type, containing chiefly carbonates, while those in the Guangnan region, north of the Funing-Yanshan line belong to the Nandan type, containing mainly silicates and clay. These Devonian strata yield extraordinarily abundant fossils, particularly the rich and well-preserved trilobites, which belong to 7 genera, 2 subgenera and 13 species, with 2 new genera and 6 new species, including Dechenclla (Dechenella) indosinensis (Mansuy), D. (Dechenella) wuheensis Zhou, D. (Dechehello) yunnanensis sp. nov., Yanshanaspis yanshanensis gen. et sp. nov., Y. guangnanensis sp. nov., Ceratoproetus guangnanensis gen. et sp. nov., Cyphaspides ovatus sp. nov., Gravicalymene maloungkaensis (Mansuy), Plagiolaria nandanensis Chang and Ductina (Illaenula) funingensis sp. nov.. Among the abovelisted trilobites Plagiolaria, Ductina (Illaenula) and Cyphaspides were found from the Middle and Upper Devonian, while others were collected from the Pojiao Formation of the Lower Devonian by the present writers. The discovery and study of these fossils not only serve to enrich the Devonian faunas in southeastern Yunnan, but also are of consideruble significance in the subdivision and correlation of the Devonian System.Description of new genera Genus Yanshanaspis gen. nov.Type species: Yanshanaspis yanshanensis gen. et sp. nov.Diagnosis: Exoskeleton long-oval to broad-oval; glabella subconical, with 3 pairs of lateral furrows; posterior 2 pairs of lateral furrows pit-like; some distinct small nodes present in the middle part of glabella; occipital furrow shallow, broadly U-shaped, with lateral occipital lobes; brim broader; anterior limb narrower; palpebral lobes kidneyshaped, situated posteriorly. Thorax with 9 segments. Pygidium nearly semicircular; axis with 8—13 rings; pleural fields with 4—8 ribs; border narrower.Age and Distribution: Late stage of Lower Devonian, Southeastern Yunnan.Genus Ceratoproetus gen. nov.Type species: Ceratoproetus guangnanensis gen. et sp. nov.Diagnosis: Exoskeleton rather minute, long-oval; glabella pear-shaped, distinctly expanded in the middle, with 2 pairs of curved lateral furrows; palpebral lobes large, situated closely to glabella; brim flat and con- cave; librigenae longer them genal spines. Thorax with 9 segments. Pygiditun nearly semicircular; axis broad-conical, with 10 rings; pleural fields with 5 ribs; border with 5 pairs of triangular lateral spines.Age and Distribution: Late stage of Lower Devonian, Southeastern Yunnan.
