【Abstract】 The optimal conditions for the interleukin 2 (IL2) production by human peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) have been investigated using China-made phytohemagglutinin (PHA) as stimulus. 177 samples of PBL obtained from normal donors at various ages have been estimated for their capacity of IL2 production. The IL2 level released by donors aged from 17 to 54 yr were, on the average of, 34.24±8.3 U/ml. The individual differences in the IL2 production were found to be 2-3 fold. The cell cultures of middle-aged donors released the amount of IL2 almost at the same magnitate as that of young donors. By contrast, the lymphocytes from old donors (56-79 yr) produced less activity of IL2, that was, on the average of, 7.64±6.0 U/ml. This impairment of IL2 production could not be attributed to the release of suppressive factor.更多还原
