【Abstract】 <ABSTRACT>It is well known that carbon, especially the silicon alloyed low temp erature pyrolytic isotropic carbon [SLTI-C] , is an excellent biochemi cally compatible material. In recent years, an extensive investigation on its application in biomedical engineering has been carried out. On the other hand, as we know, its mechanical properties and toughness are rela-tikely low and need to be improved. In this study, Carbon fiber reinfor ced carbon ( CFRC) coated with SLTI-C was used as implantation material in order to overcome its weakness.On the basis of animal test, This material was implanted in 17 pati ents for mandibulofacial Surgery,the recent clinical results being satisfa ctory.The biological stability of the implants and potential ity for restoration of lost dentia were discussed.更多还原
