【Abstract】 Cytogenetical investigations on the meiotic chromosome behavior of microsporocytes were carried out on two interspecific cross combinations of cotton: Amph G. arboreum L.×G. herbaceum L. crossed with G. hirsutum L. and autotetraploid of G.arboreum L. crossed with G. hirsutum L. Results showed that owing to the irregular meiotic chromosome pairing of the F₁ hybrid of the two interspecific cross combinations, a lot of univalents and polyvalents at MI, unequivalent distribution of chromosomes at TⅠ and TⅡ and other kinds of irregularities of meiotio chromosome behavior were observed. Almost all of the microspores were aborted and, hence, the F₁ hybrids were completely male sterile.更多还原
