蓖麻蚕休眠的研究——蓖麻蚕的休眠发生规律
STUDIES ON HIBERNATION OF ERI-SILKWORM (PHILOSAMIA CYNTHIA RICINI)——Rules of Appearance of Hibernation in Cultivated Eri-silkworm
【摘要】 <正> 蓖麻蚕(Philosamia cynthia ricini Boisduval)原是纯多化性昆虫。我们研究的连续三代定向驯化法,可将这种纯多化性的蓖麻蚕改变成为以蛹态兼休眠能越冬的新类型。为了探索环境因子诱发蓖麻蚕休眠的规律,给生产上控制化性提供依据,从1964—1979年以驯化型蓖麻蚕为主要材料,较系统地研究了环境因子(温、光、湿)作用于蚕的各发育阶段(卵、稚蚕、壮蚕、前嫩蛹期)与休眠的关系。本文就此加以总结和探讨。
【Abstract】 The environmental factors (such as temperature, photoperiod and humidity) which play an important part in each developing stage of Eri-silkworm (egg, lst—5th instar larva, prepupa and early pupa) and the relationship between the environment and the hibernation of pupaare discussed in this article, 1. The low temperature (17±1℃) during 5th larval instar,prepupal and early pupal stages is the key to obtaining hibernation. The upper limit, the lower limit and the optimum range of the temperature at which the pupae could hibernate, are given.2. The short photoperiod (10±2 hours) during the 4th and 5th larval instar is also an essential condition to hibernation. The influence of photoperiod, illumination and colour rays in different wavelengths upon hibernation is discussed, 3. It is beneficial to hibernation that egg, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd instar larva, at the temperature of 2±2℃, are raised under 12 hours’ photoperiod. 4. So far as the humidity is concerned, if the humidity during 4th and 5th larval instar is a little bit lower, it will be beneficial to hibernation. 5. As to food, the feeding of Eri-silkworm with fully grown leaves of castor plant (Ricinus communis) could increase the hibernating rate more than with young leaves. However, feeding the Eri-silkworm with leaves of Ailanthus occidentalis could increase the hibernating rate even more obviously than with leaves of castor plant.
