【Abstract】 Wheat straw fibers are characterized by their shortness in fiber length, as well as by their abundance in non-fibrous constituents and high pentosan content. Studies were carried out on the variables in wheat straw cooking, bleaching and beating.Fines and non-fibrous constituents were screened off, and chemical additives were added to the stock, with the wishful intention to promote paper strength, to dimmish brittleness, and to enhance paper quality.Experimental results revealed that:(1) Cutting, screening, and dust removal in the preparation of wheat straw prior to digestion should be stressed.( 2 ) Alkaline sulfite cooking, followed by single stage hypochlorite bleaching proved to be satisfactory. pH control in bleaching was of prime importance. Addition of aminosulfonic acid in bleaching was adopted.( 3 ) Light beating was practised for wheat straw pulp with PAM added.( 4) Paper made from pulp thus processed apparently had its problem of brittleness solved to a satisfactory degree.更多还原
