特征矩阵法分析周期性矩形皱波导

【摘要】 本文用特征矩阵和光学薄膜的理论分析周期性矩形皱波导,得到了用传统方法求解周期性矩形皱波导的主要结果.所求出的耦合系数表达式比耦合模理论的结果更为简单、实用.本文还对这类波导传播常数的禁域中心进行了探讨,对于三种不同的周期性矩形皱波导,有三个不同的布喇格值与之相对应,而各禁域的宽度是相同的.

【Abstract】 In this paper, a new method is presented for analysing rectangular-corrugated waveguides. First, with the concept of effective index of refraction, the rectangular-corrugated waveguide is transformed into a system of multilayered optical films and thus, the two-dimensional electromagnetic field problem is replaced by a one-dimensional problem instead. Then, by using the characteristic matrix method, we have obtained some important results of the rectangular-corrugated waveguide. The expression of coupled coefficient we obtained, is simpler and more precise in comparison with the results derived by conventional methods. Besides, the forbidden gaps of three kinds of rectangular-corrugated wavtguides have been calculated in detail and the derived centres of the forbidden gaps are actually distinct rather than coincident.
