【Abstract】 The familial investigation, observations of features, postmortem and tissue examination, and cytogenetics research were carried out on a bisexual abnormal family of at least five generations and over two hundred pigs. It was conclusively proved that these bisexual abnormal pigs in this family belonged to a syndrome of testicular fe-minization. The caryogram showed 38, XY. The genetic foundation is that in the X chromosome, there is an X-linked recessive. Thus, when a sow carried this recessive gene mated with any normal boar, one quarter of the progeny exhibited the sex abnormality. The abnormal pigs may be suited for rearing for meat.
