【Abstract】 A liquid extraction method, different from the current extraction me-thods based on solid-liquid partition, is used to extract trace BHC and DDTfrom marine sediments. In this method, ample doesn’t contact directly withthe organic solvents used for the extraction. Since BHC and DDT display,after vapourization, large "specific surface area" of gas-liquid, liquid-liquidpartitioning, in the non-hcmogenous system, trace EHC and EDT were ex-tracted indirectly from sediments, greatly reduced the interferences of organicmatters in the sediments on the determination and simplifying the stepsof extraction and purification. In comparision with other methods, this methodis sensitive, rapid, simple and convinient. The extraction process and mechanism which involves several complexinterfacial physico-chemical processes have also been preliminarily discussedin the paper.
