【Abstract】 This article describes a new shunt method for treating hydrocepalus with a tube in which a valve pump was set to make the C S F to flow in one direction only, from lateral ventricle to bladder through the subcutaneous route. This operation does not need removal of the Kidney.The operative procedure is simple and can be easily popularized. The operative indications are broader than before. It is used not only in obstructive hydrocephalus, but also in communicative hydrocepalus, even with high protein in the CSF.We did not find any adhesion around the tip of the tube which might cause obstruction. As long as the urinary sugar remains positive, the tube is functioning well, of the three cases we have operated is the result satisfactory. One of them had a serious enlarged ventricule before operation and becomes almost normal in size after the operation. This may influence the development of the brain in the future. There are mild symptoms of bladder irritation in the other two.It must be point out that this method is contraindicated in patients with diseases of the urinary system.更多还原
