【Abstract】 Using a modified Beam-Warming finite difference scheme, thepaper proposes a successful numerical method to calculate the flow field in a rotating cylinder with a gas feeding on its bottom and and depleting both on the top and bottom. In this way, the nonsteady Navier-Stokes equations are considered as governing equations and the time-depedent process are employed to get a steady solution. Because the scheme mentioned above has unconditional stability and the proper treatment of boundary conditions, the numerical experiments confirm that the method has a pretty well stability and exhibit some important behaviour of rotating fluid.
