【Abstract】 Data compression technique for Chinese character images plays an important role in computerised editing and laser typesetting system. The character sizing method used in the system is one of the principal measures of achieving high overall compression ratio. Different scaling methods are adopted for both regular strokes and irregular strokes of Chinese characters and steps are taken to guarantee the quality during scaling. Bipolar PKOM, bit-slice microprocessor and microprogramming technique are used to increase sizing speed and to reduce hardware cost.更多还原
