高能β源测量法的改进
An Improved Method of High-energy Emitters of Radiation with Liquid Scincillation Counter
【摘要】 本文以高能β源为材料,对32P在不同介质中的计数效率和32P测量方法进行了比较.结果表明:高能β源示踪的切仑科夫辐射测量以TEP溶液为介质最佳,其相对测量效率可从以水为介质的25.3%约提高102%;采用含有32P的内管插入以TEP溶液为介质的测量杯中的方法,与水均相法比较,测量效率约提高15.7%.套管法优点是样品可重复测量,介质可连续使用,废液减少,是高能β源示踪测量的一种经济有效的新方法.
【Abstract】 Cerenkov radiation is emitted when a charged partiele moves through a transparent medium with a velocity exceeding that of light in the medium. The measurement of Cerenkov radiation with L.S.C has been widely applied to the quantitative determination of high energy emitting radionuclides in solution by many investigators.This paper reports some effects of various solvents with refractive index and a wavelength-shifting compound-POPOP ( 4-Di-C2-(5-phenyloxazolyl) ] -benzene) on Cerenkov counting in defermining 32P. The determination indi-cates that counting efficiency of 32P in TEP(toulene-ethyleneglycol monoethyl ether-POPOP) solution is much higher than that in water. The counting efficieny relative to L.S.C % of S2P in water may increase from 25.3% to 102.0% in TEP solution.In order to decrease the amount of waste solution and use the solution repeatedly, We have applied an improved method that the sample of 32P is put into flat-bottomed glass tubes and these tubes, in turn, are placed inside the vials with TEP solvent. Our experimental results indicate that the counting efficiency of 32P in the method is 15.7% higher than that in water. The advantapes of this method are the repeated determination for biological samples with L.S.C, and the continuous use of radioactive biological samples.
