【Abstract】 This paper has analysed the state of pollution by heavy metals in the Zhu-jiang River Estuarine Area in five aspects,i.e.,1)the degree to which water bodies,sediments and organisms are polluted by heavy metalsi 2)theconcen tration coefficient of sediments and organisms for heavy metals;3) Zn/Cd in the sediments;4) the relation between the content of heavy metals and that of organic matter in the sediments and 5) forms of occurance for heavy metals in the water bodies.It is considered that the Zhujiang River (Pearl River) mouth has been polltued by heavy metals,the degree of pollution following the order of sediment>organism>water body.And a secondary pollution might also occur.To protect the Zhujiang River estuarine area,it is considered essential to exert strict control over the discharge of waste water and waste materials.更多还原
