【Abstract】 The malate dehydrogenase (MDH) pattern of paragonimus westermani collected from Liuyang, a county in the northeast of Hunan Province, was determined by PAGE. The characteristic patterns of this enzyme was similar in metacercaria, young worms and adult worms, but the locations and numbers of MDH bands showed a slight discrepancy. To demonstrate the MDH pattern, 15 metacercariae were needed at least.
