【Abstract】 In this paper we discuss the characteristic problem and initial-boundary value problem using the functional integral method for the following equation: u_xxt+η（x,t）u（xx）=F(x,t,u,u_t, u_x, u_xt) and obtain existence and uniqueness of the solutions to above problems.
