【Abstract】 Giant fibroadenoma is not rare but owing to its bulky size, rapid growth and varices in the skin it is often misdiagnosed as malignant tumor. Our experience (from 1960 to 1980) from 10 cases of giant fibroadenoma confirmed pathologically is presented. The patients’ ages ranged from 18 to 50 years, mostly occurring in adolescent and climacteric age; the average was 27.4 years. The majority of the patients had a small fibroadenoma for a long time, but grew rapidly to become giant fibroadenoma in a few months, resulting from pregnancy or lactation. Simple mastectomy is thought to be the best treatment for giant fibroadenoma.更多还原
