【Abstract】 The broad heritability of plant height （h²b%） and the expected distribution frequencies of F₂ of 15 combinations from 5 short-stalked wheats "Aibian 1", "Jingai 1", "130 （Ai） 15", "Dongai 1"and"Wunong 74 （473）" were estimated in 1979-1981. Data from the 3 combinations with "Aibian 1" gave the heighest mean value of heritability of 93.66% that from the 4 combinations with "Jingai 1" was 83.02%; and those from the other combinations with the remaining 3 dwarf stocks were all below 80%.The distributions of plant height of F₂ revealed the higher the heritability, the lower the proportion of trangressive tall plants, and vice versa. Thus "Aibian 1" seems to be a promising dwarf germplasm in breeding for short-statured wheats. The dwarf germplasm "wunong 74 （473）"had a high hereditary capacity of earliness with good fertility in its progenies.更多还原
