【Abstract】 Cefamandole (China-made) is a new ce-phalosporin derivative. Its antibacterial activity against 386 strains of clinical isolates was determined by microdilution method. It was a broad-spectrum antibiotic active against many Gram-positive and negative bacteria including enterobacter species, indole-po-sitive Proteus, Providenia species and Haem-mophilus influenzae.Its activity against Gram-negative bacteria was much stronger than those of the first generation cephalosporins. It was more resistant to β-lactamase than the Penicillins and some of the Cephalosporins. Experimental infections in mice revealed that the Protective action of cefamandole is fairly strong.These may be of particular clinical importance.更多还原
