非晶态结构的二维硬球模型

【摘要】 近来在非晶态结构的模型化研究中,短程序受到特别的重视。过去二维的非晶模型都是不等径球做的,等径球作二维密排一般会出现长程序。我们将六个等径钢球粘成五边形的集团,再与适当数量的单独钢球混合,所得的径向分布函数可与非晶态的基本相符。这种模型还表明,组成非晶态材料的原子大小和化学键的方向性都可能影响非晶态的形成。

【Abstract】 Short range order of non-crystalline solids was much discussed in recent modelling studies,but relatively few studies were done in 2 dimensional models, for equal radius balls cannot be packed closely without long range order in 2 dimension. We made a 2 dimensional model of equal radius balls by sticking 6 balls together to form a cluster which was used as a structural unit for model building. Some single balls were mixed with the clusters.When the number of balls in clusters is greater than a certain amount (~35%in ball numbers) , the RDF of the model is similar to that of metal glasses. It shows that the bonding characteristics as well as the size of the atoms can influence the forming of non-crystalline materials.
