【Abstract】 The PSE loops in VCG of patients with chronic rheumatic valvular disease weremeasured and analysed.The results showed that in the case of left atrial overload.the P loops are enlarged posteriorly,inferiorly andto the left.Their spatial anglesare oriented posteriorly,the time for atrial depolarization is prolonged.Based on themost sensitive indices and the normal range of P loops elsewhere,a new VCG diagno-stic criteria of left atrial overload are proposed.The false positive rate among nor-mal subjects is 2.5%.In the test group,including patients with chronic rheumatic he-art disease,hypertension,coronary heart disease and cardiac myopathy,we have co-mpared our proposed criteria with those VCG criteria of Ishikawa,those of Beachim-ol and the general accepted ECG criteria.THE former is most sensitive.The prolon-gepd P loop(≥0.12″)is a valuable finding and often suggests left atrial overload.Butwithout other clinical findings,by itself it may not be sufficient to justify a definite diagnosis.更多还原
