【Abstract】 The regenerated synovial membranes of 13 rheumatoid patients who had had previous operations for synovectomy (2 cases) or artificial arthro-displacement (11 cases) were studied. The histological samples were obtained from one to 55 months following the operation respectively. HE stain was used as the main staining, other staining methods including elastic tissue stain, PAS, phosphotungstic acid hematoxylin and Van Gieson stains.The results showed: 1. After the total excision of the synovial membrane, regenerated synovial cells appeared in the form of proliferation and metaplasia of the mesenchymal cells within the connective tissue. 2. The proliferative synovial cell layer was formed in the first postoperative month, the longer the time was, the more mature the layer would be, which was similar to that seen in normalsynovial membrane. 3. Synovial membrane in early stage underwent a complete regeneration. Mechanical irritation did not seem to cause remarkable influence over the regenerated cell layer In case of infection, the course of regeneration was impaired or prolonged.更多还原
