ON THE QUATERNARY SEQUENCE IN THE COASTAL REGION OF CHINA
【摘要】 <正> 广阔的中国海包括了渤海、黄海、东海及南海的沿海平原及陆架.从总体看,中国大陆第四纪发展史基本控制了沿海陆架发育史.中国沿海人口密集、工业发达,陆架资源丰富,研究沿海平原第四纪的层序,对石油勘探开发具有实际意义.一、渤海、黄海西岸及陆架第四系概况
【Abstract】 The general investigation results made on the basis of abundent geological data available from numerous core borings, are as follows:1.The Quaternary sequence in the coastal regions of the continent of China, formed under the influence of Quaternary glacial and interglacial climate in the Northern Hemisphere, may be generally subdivided into four main glacial stages, three interglacial and a post-glacial stages. The subdivision of the Quaternary sediments in the vast coastal regions on the west shores of Bohai Gulf and the Yellow sea may be represented by the subdivision framework of the Quaternary system in Cangzhou region; but the subdivision scale of Shanghai city may be served as an example for the Yangtze delta. The boundary between Pleistocene and Pliocene in the Northern China lies approximately near the boundary datum betvreen Matuyama Reversed Epoch and Gauss Normal Epoch, dated by 2.4 m. y. B.P. The Chaoyang Glaciation, resenting the first climate deteriorate in Late Cenozoic is assigned to Pliocene.2.The Quaternary sequence in the coastal regions of China contains obvious traces of 5-6 moraine strata. The mentioned main transgressions, almost all, occurred during interglacial climate stages, or during interstadials. Such transgressions are essentially of classical glacioeustatic transgressions. This is strongly supported by the fluctuation curve pattern of the sea level changes since Last Glaciation.3.The Quaternary stratigraphy in the continental shelves are the immidiate continuous parts of the Quaternary sediments in the continent.
