【Abstract】 Silk fabric dyed with a difluorochloro-pyrimidine reactive dye shows a reduction in solubility inaqueous lithium thiocyanate solution and an improvement in resilient elasticity properties.Theseeffects are attributed to the cross-linkages formed by the bifunctional reaction of the dye with silkfibroin.Comparisons in dyeing behaviour and solubility are made between normal and modified silk,inwhich the phenolic groups of the tyrosine residues have been partially blocked by methylation withdiazomethane.The results indicate forcibly that the tyrosine residues of silk fibroin play an importantrole in the reaction with the dye.更多还原
