γ辐射对枯草杆菌DNA转化活力的影响
THE EFFECT OF γ-RADIATION ON THE TRANSFORMING ACTIVITY OF B.SUBTILIS DNA
【摘要】 枯草杆菌(B.Subtilis)DNA 稀释溶液,以γ射线进行照射,使 DNA 产生链断裂。用聚乙二醇-葡聚糖(简称 PEG-DEX)双相体系测量单链断裂的数目。实验结果表明,B.SubtilisDNA的转化活力的降低主要是由单链断裂所致。
【Abstract】 wen B.Suotilis DNA in dilute solution is γ-irradiated,strand-breaks are produced.The production of single-strand break wasdetermined in the PEG-DEX two phase system.Experimental results showthat the transforming activity of B.Subtilis DNA is predominantly inactiva-ted by single-strand breaks.The D37is about 14 krads.It should be conclu-ded that the principal chemical event responsible for inactivation oftransforming DNA is the single-strand break.
