【Abstract】 The wild-caught rhesus monkeys were procured from An Hui, Fu Jian and Guan Xi provinces. 88 females and 40 males ranged in body weight from 2-12 Kg and approximately in age from l1/2-10 years old. The animals were quarantined for 1 - 3 months and had been determined to be tuberculine-negative, free of Salmonella and Shigella bacilli infection, SGPT below 42 units, and in good physical condition. Blood samples were obtained by femoral venipuncture before feeding in the morning. The animals were fed with a locally prepared diet and supplemented with fresh apples, tap water and cod liver oil. Pregnancy was determined by intrarectal palpation of the uterus. 15 pregnant animals delivered a normal live infant each, 5 aborted spontaneously. The lengths of gestation when the blood samples were drawn were estimated to be 2-3 months. A total of 42 items were tested and the methods used in these tests were presented in corresponding column of the tables.The results are presented in Table 1 - 6 , whereas the comparison of 9 biochemical reference values between pregnant and non-pregnant female monkeys is summarized in Table 7.The electrophoretic pattern of serum protein are illustrated in Fig. 1.The results are discussed and compared with findings in literature briefly.更多还原
