【Abstract】 Some important mechanical properties of the S15A steels with and without widmanstatten ferrite are determined and compared.The results show that the appearance of widmanstatten ferrite is rather advantageous than injurious to the mechanical properties in spite of the structure being produced on isothermal holding or continuous cooling.The better properties associated with the widmanstatten structure is attributed to two aspects:(1)The thermal condition for avoiding the appearance of widmanstatten is profitable for forming some precipitates which are injurious to the mechanical properties;(2)The fact that the proeutectoid ferrite exists as widmanstatten is equivalent to grain refinement.更多还原
