Clinical significance of the detection of circulating immune complexes in some immune disease
【Abstract】 For the purposes of clinical diagnosis and the study of connective tissue disease (CTD) immune mechanisms, 117 cases of CTD were examined through the detection of circulating immune complex (CIC), by measuring polyethylene glycol (PEG) turbidity values. There were 40 cases of systemic iupus erythematosus (SLE), 41 cases of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and 36 cases of other CTD. It was found that the values of PEG turbidity test was meaningful to the clinical changes only when it was used in association with other specific immunological tests and the consideration of clinical manifestations. This method was proved to be simple, reproducible. It is suitable for the routine clinical studies of autoimmune diseases.
