【Abstract】 The endemic area of Orientobilharzia turkestanica in sheep in Eastern Inner Monggol Autonomous Region was investigated. Observations were made on the bionomics of two species of molluscan hosts bearing the larval stages of this trematode. Seasonal variations of the infection was noticed. The incidences of infection of the molluscan hosts, Radix auricula-ria and R. ovata, are 1-6.8% (average 4.47%) and 2.2-5.29% (average 3.9%) respectively. The positive snails containing mature cercariae were found from July to the early September. The whole life cycle of this blood fluke was investigated, involving different developmental stages in the body of experimentally infected rabbits.The tegumental surface of critical point of dried adult Orientobilkarzia turkestanica was studied with the scanning electron microscope. Elevated tepmental folds cover the body surface of the male and extend to the gynecophoral folds. Many sensory bulbs with central alia occurring on the greater part of the body surface. Under normal conditions, all the sensory bulbs of different she are covered by the tegumental folds. Specimens washed with water are devoid of tegumental folds. The hemisphere-like sensory bulbs are revealed on the body surface. We are, therefore, of the opinion that 0. turkestanica (Skrjabin, 1913) var. tuberculata (Bhalerao, 1932) is probably the synonyms of 0. turkestanica (Skrjabin, 1913) Dutt et Srivastava, 1955.更多还原
