【Abstract】 This paper presents a meticulous histologic study and analysis of eight cases of so-called carci-nosarcoma of esophagus, among them six cases exhibited typical polypoid appearence macrosco-pically and the other two cases were not dissimilar to ordinary fungoid type carcinoma. However, histologic examinations revealed that all of these cases were characterized by their coexistence of epidermoid carcinoma in various grades of differentiation and sarcoma-like component; distinct transitional zone was also noted between carcinoma and "sarcoma" .According to the author’s observation, the sarcomatous component of so-called carcinosarcoma of esophagus is undoubtedly of epithelial origin, so the author held the opinion that the so-called "carcinosarcoma" of esophagus was really a kind of polypoid carcinmao rather thah true carcinosarcoma.更多还原
