【Abstract】 This paper deals with a new Eulophid wasp species, Sympiesis parnarae Chu et Liao, which is parasitic to Parnarae guttata Bremer et Grey.This new species is closely related to Sympiesis viridula ( Thomson ) , but it differs from the latter by having the following characteristics: ( 1 ) the funicles being shorter in female; (2)one of each first two funicular segments of male longer than 3rd or 4th respectively, and not vice versa; ( 3 ) the median carina and plica of propodeum complete; ( 4 ) it bluish green, with mouth parts darkish brown and not yellow, tegula browish, (5) the ratio among veins different, for example, the marginal vein 2 times longer than postmarginal; ( 6 ) the length of abdomen not longer than the combine of head and thorax. It is also allied to the North American species Sympiesis fragariae but can be distinguished from it by: ( 1 ) propodeum with median carina clearly; ( 2 ) the first funicular segment being the longest and not the 4th; ( 3 ) body colour rather greenish than blue; ( 4 ) legs including coxae and tarsi yellowish, at most, redish yellew.
