【Abstract】 The Johansson’s method for determination of the uronic acid content in raw materials or pulps is very complicate, though it is a volumetric method. Our improved method is based upon the decarboxylation of the uronic acids with 12% hydrochloric acid and the carbon dioxide evolved is absorbed with quantitative barium hydroxide solution. The excessive barium hydroxide is titrated directly with standard oxalic acid solution. The uronic acid content can be calculated in comparison with the blank test.更多还原
