【Abstract】 Since 1973 combined prophylactic measures against esophageal cancer were carried out in Ci-Xian county,Hebei province,an area of high incidence of esophageal can- cer.In 1978 and subsequently there had been a trend of lowered incidence of this dis- ease.The prophylactic measures included(1)amelioration of drinking water including the exposure to sunlight,(2)improvement in storage of foodstuff and prevention from contamination of moulds,(3)dissuasion from eating pickled vegetables in favor of fresh ones,(4)aggressive treatment of precancerous changes in the esophagus.How- ever,the observation period of these prophylactic measures is still short,and further study of their role in prophylaxis is needed.更多还原
