【Abstract】 The characteristics of the venom apparatus of Hydrophis cyanocinctus are as follows:(1)The surface of the poisoning glands is thoroughly covered by a la- yer of tenacious film-like ligament.(2)The functioning poisonous fang is straight, small and short.Its length doesn’t show obvious change as the body grows.(3) The main gland has a small volume,small weight and little poison discharge. The wall of the glandular tract is composed of three kinds of cells,the poiso- ning glandular cells of whole-discharge type,the short pillar shaped epithel- ial cells of discharge type and the horizontal cells.(4)The accessory glands are not developed.Their small tract wall is formed by a singlelayer of square cells. The cells contain granules of affluent sugar which produce response to PAS.(5) The tracts are slender,their length is about that of the main gland. The complete traces of bite of Hydrophis cyanocinctus has relatively great different from that of Viperidae and Elapidae,but is similar to that of non- poisonous snakes.Distinction must be made in the diagnosis of the snake bite.更多还原
