【Abstract】 Growth and differentiation of bone marrow cells of .19 patients with blood disorders and of 3 normal subjects were observed dynamically in diffusion chamber culture over a period of 15 days. The results showed that the pattern growth and differen tiation of marrow cells from normal subjects were steady and fairly identical. The average amount of marrow cells of leukemic patients in the diffusion chambers were fewer than that of the normal marrow and some phenomena of maturation and differentiation were observed. In the normal marrow cell culture, nucleared erythroid cells never exceeded 15% and usually disappeared after 10 days. But the proportion of the erythroid series of anemic patients was higher than that of normal, and maintained for a longer time. It is interesting to note that the eosinophils maintained in a higher level and continueus to differentiate and maturate throughout the normal cell culture. This work also confirmed that the eosinophils was originated from eosinophilic committed stem cell (CFU-Eo) which is independent of CFU-C.
