【Abstract】 A case of persistent atrial tachycardia without P waves, masquerading as that of an A-V junctional origin, was reported.The patient, a male worker, aged 43. had a history of repeated fainting spells and occasional syncope for 3 years and congestive heart failure for about a year before admission. Prior to this, sinus bradycardia with junctional escape was reported on one occasion following an attack. There was no clinical evidence of valvular disease. angina pectoris. myocardial infarction, amyotrophy or amyloid degeneration. By using the His bundle, right atrial and esopbageal electrocardiography together with jugular venous pulse recording, we were able to demonstrate atrial tachycardia in E K G as group beating with narrow QRS complexes but no P waves. The heart rate varied from 42 to 120 beats per minute. The major portion of the left atrium was normal.Although the etiology rematns obscure and the pathoegenesis is not well clarified. we assume that this particular type of tachycardia might nave been caused by a sort of idiopathic atrial disease.更多还原
