【Abstract】 One hundred and eighty-five cases of nasopharyngeal angiofibroma were operatedupon between 1952-1978.Of them,183(98.8%)were males and 118(63.8%)werebelow the age of 20.The main symptoms were nasal obstruction(91.9%)and bleeding(91.4%).According to the direction of invasion,the tumors were classified as:1.Rhino-nasopharyngeal type(141 cases).2.Palato-nasopharyngeal type(9)3.Bucco-pterygo-nasopharyngeal type(20)and 4.Cranio-orbito-nasopharyngeal type(15).Since1957 we used“U”type incision on the hard palate(194 times)and found it a goodapproach.By using external carotid artery ligation and/or cryosurgery,blood loss wasmarkedly reduced.There was one operative death.35(18.9%)cases were reoperated onaccount of recurrences,giving a total of 87.85% of the followed cases free of tumor.更多还原
