【Abstract】 A survey on the trematodes in some wild animals from Guangdong Province wasmade during March-April, 1978. Specimens were collected from the alimentary systemof amphibians, birds and mammals. 7 species belonging to 7 genera and 6 familiesand 1 new host record are given in Table 1. The new species is characterized as followsand the type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica. Brachylecithum guangdongum, sp. nov. (fig. 1) This species resembles very closely B. eugenia and B. praetenue, but differs fromB. eugenia in having a smaller body, shorter esophagus, smaller acetabulumand smaller testes, and from B. praetenue in having its maximum width being behindthe vitellaria and in having larger testes and smaller eggs.
