【Abstract】 The section of introductory maps includes the maps of environmental elements which are closely connected with the distribution of cancer.This section does not make up a complete system itself. The methods of graduated symbols,isolines and point symbols are used coordinately to reflect the law of distribution,tendency and figure of the death rates of cancer. The graduations on the collation maps are classified by using percentiles graduations.The intervals of the isolines are based on the differences between the graduations on the collation maps.Evenly distributed intervals are not adopted here.Various sizes of point are adopted as point symbols. The traditional principle of distributing the main maps in the centre has not been adopted in our work,so as to make use of the space of the whole page as full as possible.There are various kinds of statistical maps and lists in order to give the readers a full information. According to the theory of sensitivity toward maps and in order to express the characteristics of this map,the principles followed in colour design are comparable,symbolic,attractive and using as few colours as possible.更多还原
