棉花应用乙烯利催熟技术及其原理

【摘要】 <正> 如何促进棉花早熟是我国许多棉区的一个共同性课题。七十年代以来,我国一些单位研究利用植物生长调节剂乙烯利(2-氯乙基膦酸)进行棉花催熟,到1980年,全国约有15个省市示范推广,达150万亩以上,绝大多数收到了早熟、增产和改善纤维品质的效果。一般可使棉铃提早吐絮7—10天,霜前花增加20%以上,是解决棉花晚熟问题的一项较有效的措施。

【Abstract】 Delay in boll maturity is often a serious problem affecting the cotton production in China. In the years of 1974—1980, ethrel spray on cotton for the enhancement of maturity was conducted by us in the laboratory as well as in the field. Ethrel-treated plants possess higher levels of ethylene than the controls, which in turn induce rapid boll formation with a higher intake of photosynthates. The bolls of the treated plant also dehisce earlier and their peroxidase activity is higher particularly in the wall.By spraying with ethrel solution in 500-1,000 ppm when most of the bolls have reached 70-80% maturity, cotton plants not only mature earlier, but also give higher yield and better fibre quality.
