【Abstract】 Temporal artery pedunculated skin graft was most commonly used in the repair of eyebrow defects and reconstruction of palpebral defects. Since 1962 the authors have used temporal artery pedunculated skin graft in the reconstruction of 6 cases of subtotal or total palpebral defects with satisfactory results.The surgjcal procedures were essentially presented. A good preoperative design of skin flap, based upon meticulous identification of the course of the temporal artery and the site of its termination on the forehead should be made. To the undersurface of the skin flap a small piece of oral mucosa or a skin flap of middle-thickness was grafted. This pedunculated skin flap with the artery and periarterial tissue was later freed and transposed to the site of palpebral defect in the second stage of operation. The objective and the principles of reconstruction of subtotal and total palpebral defects were discussed and evaluated.更多还原
